Cultural Center Winter Open House Fundraiser Thursday, December 3
Join us on Thursday, December 3rd at the New York Mills City Hall Ballroom for several exciting opportunities taking place during the Christmas Tree Festival from 6-9 pm.
We are embracing CHANGE at the Cultural Center this year. With a new Director, and many new staff and board members, we are shaking things up a bit and will be offering a multitude of opportunities to connect, have fun, get ready for the holidays, and support the Center this year at our annual winter fundraiser.
Unlike past years, we will not be holding a silent or live auction. Instead, our weekly Sit and Stitch group has been busy transforming everyday objects into brand new items, a “Mer-RE-Imagine Christmas” theme. Available for sale will be upcycled jewelry, accessories, holiday decor and more. All proceeds from sold items will help the Center continue to bring arts programming to our rural community.
New this year is the addition of a “Tub of Beer” to our annual “Wall of Wine” drawing. We are now accepting all donations of wine and craft beer in bottles, boxes or cans. Also, bonus this year, for each item donated, you will receive a complimentary chance to win it all! Tickets can be purchased for $5 for one chance or $10 for three chances. You may buy tickets in advance and do NOT need to be present to win.
We are very excited to also kick off our new “Pairings” class series during this event. This first class is ‘Center of Attention’ — make your own winter centerpiece, led by Tessa Braukmann of Designs by Tes. Two sessions will be offered with 10 spots in each session: 6-7:15pm and 7:30-8:45pm. Fee $37 includes materials, drink ticket, and light refreshments (meat & cheese tray). Cultural Center members receive $2 discount. Click here for more details. Space is limited, so call today to reserve your spot (218-385-3339)!
Available for sale will be our “Taste of the Region” gift card packages. For $100 you receive four $25 gift cards to area restaurants, plus a bonus $5 for our Cultural Center Gift Store. Each package includes $25 each to Brew Ales & Eats (Perham), The Otter (Ottertail), The Uptown (Wadena), and either Mills Lanes (NYM) OR Zorbaz (Little Pine Lake). These packages are great to use yourself or give as holiday gifts to family and friends. Thanks to these area restaurants for partnering with us on this fun new fundraiser!
Lastly, wine and beer tasting sponsored by Mills Liquors and refreshments provided by Cultural Center board and staff will be available. Come join us for a fun night of celebrating the local and enjoying new experiences with the Cultural Center!
