ABOUT OUR CLIMATE: What We See and What You Should Hear

Join a conversation with climatologist Erlend M. Knudsen and conservationist Oria Jamar on current news of climate change and its impact on northern areas like ours. This is a 60+ minute gathering which will include presentation as well as time for question and answer and general conversation. To be held at the Cultural Center gallery here in New York Mills on Thursday, February 12th at 7 pm. A $5 donation to the Will Steger Foundation is asked.

Erlend M. Knudsen is a young Norwegian climate scientist with a specialty in Arctic sea ice and climate systems, while Belgian Oria Jamar specializes in conservation issues in the tropics and the Arctic. Beyond this, the couple has personal love of high, cold, and windswept places, which range from blue glaciers to dark mountains. They traverse and trek at every opportunity and do it purely for the awe of such sights. Now, they are passing through Wadena for a brief visit, Erlend’s fourth visit here. They will continue on to Will Steger’s homestead in Ely and therefore can add news of Will’s own concerns and observations.
