Reception for this show is on Wednesday, May 21 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Every artist may submit up to two pieces and they may be in any medium of visual art except film and video.
Art should be brought to the Cultural Center on Saturday, May 10th between the hours of 10:00am and 3:00 pm
unless other arrangements have been made. This is not a juried show.
2008 Spirit of Place juried art show announced--deadline for submissions is May 15. Show runs from June 23-August 2. Reception for artists and friends will be Friday, June 27th at 7:30 pm.
This show is open to all artists working in the region, including South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Artists may submit up to 5 works for consideration but no more than two works will be selected for the show. Works may be in any medium except film or video.
Submissions should be made on a CD. Photographs of art work should be in jpeg format with the largest dimension no greater than 1000 pixels. Each image should be titled in the following way. 1_smith_misssunshine. This title would indicate item number 1 submitted by artist Smith with the title miss sunshine.
A shot sheet with the titles of the works submitted should also be included. There is a $10 entry fee for the first two works submitted and $5 for up to three additional works. Mail your sheet, your personal contact information, and the CD to New York Mills Regional Cultural Center, Spirit of Place Show, 24 Main Avenue North, New York Mills, Minnesota 56567.
Deadline for submissions is May 15 postmark.
You will be notified of the selection decision by email. CDs will be returned if requested and sufficient postage is affixed to a self addressed envelope included with the entry. If your work is selected it should be delivered between Thursday, June 19 and Saturday June 21 (between the hours of 10:00am and 5:00pm (3:00pm on Saturday).
