Weekly Fiber Artists’ Gathering
Weekly on Thursdays
NEW TIME! 5:00 – 7:00 pm

Sit ‘n’ Stitch is BACK and is now TWO HOURS weekly!  This fiber arts gathering offers time and space for some fiber fun weekly on Thursdays from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. (NEW TIME as of August 2022).

Bring your own projects, get advice, or use our supplies to start a new project.  Crochet, knit, weave, sew, stitch, needlepoint, felt–do whatever you like!  Beginners and experienced fiber artists all welcome. Regular attendees will teach beginners or help you figure out a stitching pattern.  Yarn, needles, hooks, project bags provided for free to those who need them!  Sit n Stitch is open to all and free to attend.

 

Announcing new partnership with Knotty Neighbors!

New in 2022, Sit ‘n’ Stitch is partnering with Knotty Neighbors: a new group of fiber crafters using their skills of knitting and crocheting to craft winter outerwear, washcloths, and/or other identified needs for sharing with our neighbors in the OTC Lakes Area through distribution via partner nonprofit organizations.

Knotty Neighbors is a secular and inclusive crafting group with a mission of meeting to create together for our communities; existing under the umbrella of the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center.

Attendees to Sit ‘n’ Stitch can spend their time however they wish: work only on your own projects, contribute items to Knotty Neighbors, or some combination! The main idea of the group is to gather and connect, embracing the Cultural Center’s mission to be a rural hub for creativity, community vitality, and lifelong learning int he arts. Questions?
