Birds on Your Lake

Another Little Big Year Event!

See and hear about the fun fowl, dazzling ducks, and controversial cormorants during this visual presentation given by Bemidji-based Christine Herwig. Christine is a Nongame Specialist for the Minnesota Department of Natural resources. Her Birds on Your Lake presentation will include fun for all ages! Learn to distinguish among species of ducks and other waterfowl. Find out what we can do to preserve Minnesota wetlands for future generations of birds and humans alike to enjoy. Drink in the show, relish Ms. Herwig’s knowledge, and meet some other birders to get tips on capturing your own photos of local wetland wildlife!

A free-will offering will be taken to support The Nongame Wildlife Program. The Nongame Wildlife Program was founded by the Department of Natural Resources in 1977. It is supported almost solely by donations from the public. It does not accept general funding from the State of Minnesota or from the sales of gaming licenses.

Any budding amateur ornithologists out there? Get your birding on by joining in on The Little Big Year. For More information, contact Alice Martin at 218-385-3245.

Presented by the Cultural Center in conjunction with The Little Big Year and The Nongame Wildlife Program of the MN DNR.
