The Cultural Center is honored to once again host the annual Minnesota State High School League Arts Festival for Region 6A North.

This show will be in the gallery from April 12-26, 2023. The Student Art Festival takes place on Wednesday, April 26. During this time, approximately 125-150 students and teachers will be in New York Mills to see their artwork in the gallery, hear artist presentations, and attend an awards ceremony. Please note, students will take their artwork with them at the conclusion of the festival.

  6. Henning
  7. Lake Park-Audubon
  8. Menahga
  9. New York Mills
  10. Pelican Rapids
  11. Perham
  12. Sebeka
  13. Staples-Motley
  14. Verndale
  15. Pequot Lakes

 

Students compete in a variety of categories including Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Media Arts, Crafts, Digital and Film Photograph Print Making, Ceramics, 2D Mixed Media and Graphic Design.

All pieces entered in the show are scored by qualified visual arts judges according to MSHSL rules and regulations in a variety of categories including imaginative content, skill and technique, style, and more.

The Cultural Center is pleased to work with area schools and provide a place for students to see their artwork in a professional gallery setting. We would like to recognize and thank the regional art teachers for their leadership in planning and executing this year’s exhibit and festival.

Admission to the Gallery is always free and all are welcome and invited to come and view this amazing student artwork. Our Gallery Hours are:

  • Wednesdays & Thursdays 10am-7pm
  • Fridays 10am-5pm
  • Saturdays 10am-3pm
  • Closed Sun/Mon/Tues, but available for private viewings if scheduled in advance; contact info@kulcher.org or call 218-385-3339.

On the final day, Wednesday, April 26, the artwork will come down immediately following the festival, so that students can take their work home with them (approximately 12:00 p.m.). Be sure to into the Gallery and see this artwork before it’s gone!
