Youth Ballet Classes on Hiatus 2024-2025 School Year

Youth ballet classes at the Cultural Center will be on hiatus for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 seasons, as Instructor Leona Cichy is expecting baby boy #2 in November!

All of us at the Cultural Center would like to thank Leona for sharing her love of ballet with so many children over the past 5+ years, and wish Leona and her family all our very best in the coming months!

See below for information from past Youth Ballet Sessions. We apologize for this inconvenience, and hope to see you all back for Youth Ballet in 2025!

Beginning in 2019, Leona Cichy has led Youth Ballet classes at the Cultural Center, making use of its beautiful second floor dance studio space.

Ballet has been offered seasonally in the spring and fall, for 10-12 weeks on Wednesdays. Students ages 4-12 learn basic ballet techniques in a fun and encouraging class environment. A culminating recital is held at the end of each session. Classes are offered on Wednesdays between starting at 4:00 p.m. for two separate age groups in the upstairs dance studio at the Cultural Center (accessible only by stairs).

Limited spots to ensure small class sizes; 12 students per class/age group. Full session payment is required to guarantee your spot.

To indicate your interest in being part of Youth Ballet Classes when they return in Fall 2025, please fill out the form below. Please use your child(ren)’s age/grade information for the 2025-2026 school year. We will contact you directly when we are ready to announce the next session (hopefully in the fall 2025).

Our goal for youth ballet has been to instill a love of movement and dance in children. Young dancers will learn basic ballet movements in a positive and fun environment. Proper technique is taught through creative dances and imagination.

The structured classes will focus on the basics of gross motor movement including strength, coordination, and flexibility, as well as socialization and group learning. Every class will be a dance adventure of music and movement!

Teaching ballet to your littles is Leona Cichy. Leona began dancing at the age of two and is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and modern, among other styles. She was a member of the competitive Legacy Dance Company in New Jersey for ten years and has over 10 years of teaching experience in a variety of dance styles. Leona also has extensive experience in youth development and programming.

Please call the Cultural Center at 218-385-3339 or contact instructor Leona Cichy at leona@rwwellness.com with any questions.
