Come to Dance Class beginning Tuesday, October 1st!
Dance classes are back at the Cultural Center beginning Tuesday, October 1st at 3:40 p.m. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and are open to all children ages 5 and up.
Students will learn classical techniques from ballet and jazz, and will have fun dancing to upbeat pop music. Class will be taught by Wendy Dornbusch (B.Ed/Dance). Dance shoes, unitard, and performance dress/costume are required; attire details will be available at the first class, or call the Center.
New this year, each class will include both a small group technique lessons and a full group lesson. Technique lessons will begin at 3:40-4:25, and group lessons will continue at 4:30-5:10. (NOTE: If students from outside of New York Mills are unable to arrive by 3:40, a second option for small group technique lessons may be added following the large group lesson, at 5:15-6:00, depending on enrollment. Please contact the Center if interested.)
Cost for the session (includes 16 classes) is $110. Multi-child family discounts are available: 2 children – $210, 3 children – $300. Classes will run September-December 2013, will break in January, and then continue in February-March 2014. Again, depending on enrollment, we may add a second option of attending class twice weekly (instead of just once/week), on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Two performances are currently planned for this year: at the New York Mills Community Tree Festival (City Hall Ballroom) on 12/4/13, and at the New York Mills Trade Show (NYMills School) on 3/29/14. Students will build confidence and have fun performing for their family, friends and community!
