NEW at the Cultural Center for Spring 2025, we are introducing a “pay as you’re able” model for our seasonal concert series. This means that everyone, regardless of financial barriers, can experience incredible live music right here in rural Minnesota. This initiative is made possible by a grant from the Lake Region Arts Council. Big thanks to LRAC for this support!
Experience the Dawson Redenius Septet – A Night of Dynamic Jazz!
Join us for an unforgettable evening of jazz as the Dawson Redenius Septet takes the stage! This powerhouse ensemble unites some of the finest jazz musicians from the Twin Cities and the Chippewa Valley, delivering a performance that bridges tradition and innovation. With a repertoire that spans original compositions and jazz standards, their music is a rich fusion of swing, blues, and modern jazz aesthetics, all inspired by the progressive sounds of New Orleans.
The Dawson Redenius Septet is composed of musicians based out of the Twin Cities, embodying diverse musical influences and representing multiple generations. Formed in 2024, the group proudly debuted at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with their show, Echoes of Crescent City: Early Pioneers of Jazz, and has since performed at the 2024 Eau Claire Jazz Festival, along with other venues. Known for their dynamic improvisation and tight arrangements, the septet weaves traditional elements of jazz and rhythmic dance, creating a uniquely American sound. Each member contributes a distinct musical artistry, blending together into one delicious slice of spirit.
Led by trumpeter and visionary bandleader Dawson Redenius, the Septet brings a compelling energy to every performance. This special evening will also feature two remarkable guest artists:
🎶 Ashley Gonzalez – a rhythmic force in the Twin Cities jazz scene, whose tap dancing adds a unique, percussive layer to the music.
🎤 Hannah Durham – a Las Vegas native whose soulful voice has captivated audiences and become a cherished presence in the Chippewa Valley community.
Immerse yourself in the vibrant spirit of jazz as the Dawson Redenius Septet celebrates the joy, creativity, and enduring legacy of America’s original collective art form. Don’t miss this extraordinary performance!
