The Cultural Center is pleased to present our 2022 Fall Concert Series! We look forward to bringing live music back to our unique, intimate listening-room style space in our visual arts gallery. All are welcome to join us for these one-of-a-kind music experiences!

All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the Cultural Center’s gallery space (unless noted otherwise).  Doors open at 7:00 p.m.  Seating is designed to allow for spacing among groups and is first come, first served.  Light refreshments and a cash bar are available at most concerts.

Tickets $10 in advance or $12 at the door, unless noted otherwise.  Members receive $2 discount. Students $5. Call the Center for advance ticket reservations (218-385-3339) or buy them online; links will be added to each concert below.

Jukebox Time Machine – Pat & Donna Surface, Spiritwood Music

Based in Ely‚ Minnesota at the edge of The Boundary Waters Wilderness Area, Spiritwood Music was formed by Pat Surface to produce acoustic music that is still pure and true and always respectful of its roots, which blends styles and rhythms and traditions from around the world – a great patchwork quilt of sound. Jukebox Time Machine is a multi-media show featuring Pat & Donna Surface and honoring jukebox hits through the decades.

Sachiko Flamenco Performance

A native of Osaka, Japan, Sachiko “La Chayí” Nishiuchi is a Twin Cities-based Flamenco dancer, teacher, choreographer and organizer. Besides her work as an independent artist, she dedicates her time for community work in Flamenco including directing Twin Cities Flamenco Collective. Sachiko will be visiting the New York Mills Public School in addition to performing in this public concert at the Cultural Center, thanks to grant support from the Minnesota State Arts Board.

Amanda Standalone CD Release Concert

Amanda Standalone is a writer, folk musician and multi-instrumentalist from Minnesota. She skillfully attacks the guitar, banjo, and her single stringed washtub, while packing an extra punch with her rich vocals. This concert will celebrate the release of her 3rd album ‘Ghost Stories.’ This activity is funded in part by a grant from the Five Wings Arts Council with funds provided by the McKnight Foundation.

Galactic Cowboy Orchestra Concert

Galactic Cowboy Orchestra was born in 2009 out of a desire to play technically challenging music derived from influences ranging from Mahavishnu Orchestra, The Dixie Dregs and King Crimson, to name a few. 12 years later, GCO has a stronger than ever ethic to create the ultimate musical moment between the players and the audience with their Art Rock/Jazz Fusion creations.

Curtis & Loretta Concert

Curtis & Loretta are an acclaimed folk singer/songwriter duo featuring extraordinary harmonies and an array of stringed instruments. This concert is an MSAB funded album release tour concert featuring a collection of songs inspired by the pandemic.

Dylan Doyle Band Concert
UPDATE 9/28/22: CONCERT CANCELED

Unfortunately this concert has been canceled by the artist. We are working to reschedule for 2023 — stay tuned! 

Southern born, Northern raised, Dylan Doyle has been steeped in everything from Bob Dylan, Wes Montgomery, and Bill Withers to John Prine, Jimi Hendrix, and The Band. From this comes a unique musical interpretation that lies somewhere within the delta of Roots, Rock, and Jazz, giving him a style that defies classification.

Longest Night Music Festival
