The Cultural Center is pleased to announce its 2024 Fall Concert Series! We look forward to presenting live music in our unique, intimate listening-room-style space in our visual arts gallery. All are welcome to join us for these one-of-a-kind music experiences!
Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and doors open at 7:00 (unless noted otherwise) and are held at the Cultural Center (NYMRCC), 24 North Main Avenue in NYM (unless noted otherwise). All tickets are general admission with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Light refreshments and a cash bar are available at most concerts.
Tickets are generally $10-$12 in advance or $12-$15 at the door, and Cultural Center members receive a $2 discount when purchasing at the Center. Student tickets are $5. Call the Center for advance ticket reservations (218-385-3339) or buy them online; links will be added to each concert below.

Thrown-Out Bones Concert
Thursday, September 12, 2024 @ 7:30 P.M.
San Francisco-based trio Thrown-Out Bones invokes a spirit of adventure with every song and performance. The group has honed a unique, multi-genre musical language that slides from jazz to funk to rock topped with contemplative improvisation and soaring three-part harmonies Their genre-bending “swanky rock” sound and experimental and immersive performance style combined with the synergy between the band is electric, manifesting their signature spontaneity.
Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door ($2 discount for members), and $5 for students.

Curtis & Loretta Concert
Thursday, September 26, 2024 @ 7:30 P.M.
Curtis & Loretta are a folk singer-songwriter duo, guided by their love of good songs and inspired by the stories of people they have met over 40 years of touring. Weaving together soaring harmonies with a wild menagerie of instruments that includes guitars, harp, mandocello, banjo, ukulele, kazoo, harmonica, and percussion, the duo has been called “living treasures of the Twin Cities folk scene.”

Larry Long & Fiddlin’ Pete Reunion Tour Concert
Saturday, October 19, 2024 @ 7:30 P.M.
Larry Long, Fiddlin’ Pete Watercott, and bassist Larry Dalton have come back together for this 2024 Reunion Tour to celebrate five decades of friendship. The music they perform together is deeply rooted in the American song tradition of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Hank Williams, and Bob Wills. Their live performances are an equal measure of lyrical ballads, country-swing, and old-time fiddle tunes woven together with threads of explosive instrumental improvisation.

Brianna Helbling Concert
Friday, November 1, 2024 @ 7:30 P.M.
Known for her dynamic performances and musical versatility, Brianna is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with a passion for entertaining. She plays a range of instruments, including acoustic and electric guitar, keyboard, mandolin, and bass guitar. From her beginnings as a solo acoustic artist to spending over six years in a full-time band, Brianna has graced major stages like North Dakota Country Fest, Kickn’ Up Kountry, Land O Live, Key West Songwriter’s Festival, and WE Fest.

Kip Peltoniemi Concert
Saturday, November 23, 2024 @ 7:30 P.M.
Enjoy folk, country, Finnish, and Nordic music with Kip Peltoniemi! Kip was inspired by his culture and family heritage. Over the years, he has learned to play several types of button accordions and has even taught at Finland’s top music school, Sibelius Academy. His solo record was named “Folk Album of the Year” by Finland’s largest news.

Longest Night Music Festival
Our annual winter solstice celebration of local musicians is a local favorite! Concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Lineup of local/regional musicians TBD. This event is free to attend and open to all! Freewill donations to support local live music are accepted at the event or by clicking the donate button below.
