Three yoga options outlined below, to build and strengthen your practice this fall, now through December. The Cultural Center will be closed the month of January, with yoga returning in February 2017 (specific schedule TBA).

A. Senior/Gentle Yoga with Ann Pate. Every Wednesday 9-10am. September 14th – December 7th, 2016. $4

Registered yoga instructor Ann Pate returns to the Cultural Center to lead a dedicated group in Senior/Gentle Yoga. Ann’s class focuses on a gentle journey building strength and flexibility through core yoga flows. Dress comfortably and please bring your own mat!

B. All-Levels Yoga with Tamara Moore. 2nd & 4th Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm. October 12th – December 14th, 2016.* $10

*No class Wednesday, November 23rd due to Thanksgiving holiday.

Class begins with gentle poses in order to locate and deepen breathing. Using breath, students move into more strenuous poses with modifications always offered. Poses are sometimes held, and other times flowed through more rapidly. Practice closes with deep relaxation in a resting posture. Mindfulness and compassion are the focus during yoga, with students encouraged to identify and listen to the deeper feelings and sensations of the body, mind, and heart and foster acceptance of all that comes up during the practice. Dress comfortably and please bring your own mat!

Tamara lives in Wadena with her husband and four children and is a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She has been teaching yoga for 7 years and has taught college courses in the humanities and philosophy at M-State. Tamara also practices spiritual direction, a one-on-one listening ministry. Raised mostly in Italy as a US Navy dependent Tamara aspires for more overseas travel. But closer to home she camps, bikes, swims, and hikes through Minnesota’s great State Parks, enjoys cooking ethnic foods with her husband, singing in church, and spending time in meaningful conversation with strangers and friends.

C. Flow Yoga with Wendy Billie. 1st & 3rd Thursdays, 6-7pm. October 6th – December 15th, 2016. $15 for 1 / $55 for 5 / $95 for 10

Students are guided in gaining flexibility, strength, and calmness of mind by moving through yoga poses in a smooth and flowing manner. Breath is the foundation of yoga and emphasis is on linking breath with movement to build inner heat to aid in cleansing the body of toxins, leading to balanced health mentally, physically, energetically and emotionally. Class ends with a 10 minute guided relaxation or meditation bringing you to a centered peaceful state. Each class is unique and both beginner & advanced options for yoga poses are offered. Dress comfortably and please bring your own mat!

Having traveled across the world studying yoga & living most of her life on the East coast, Wendy’s heart is now in small town Minnesota. She relishes sharing her life experiences and inner knowledge with students.  Bringing a holistic approach to her teaching, she fuses 25+ years of Yoga, Shamanism, Ayurveda, & Energy Coaching.
