Live and silent auctions at this year’s spring event

The snow is melting fast, and spring is in its frustratingly slow but always successful struggle to overtake winter.  And for many that means gardening and growing season is here (nearly).   The Center’s spring Garden Party fundraiser is themed to coincide with this annual demise of winter.  We will have potted plants, bedding plants, garden tools, and books on gardening among many other items for your bid at our April 25th event.

The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center’s spring fundraiser, the Garden Party, is happening on Thursday evening April 25th at the Center.  Bidding for silent auction items begins at 6:00pm and concludes at 8:00pm.  This year Rod Mursu will call a live auction segment beginning at 7:00pm and there are many exciting items for the live auction too.

A 5’ x 7’ American Flag with official certification that it flew over the United States Capitol (from U. S. Senator Amy Klobuchar) is one prize item.  Other gifts to bid on include rounds of golf at Blueberry Pines course near Menahga, a private wine tasting event in the wine cellar of one of NY Mills most knowledgeable wine connoisseurs, wildlife art, a pontoon tour of Big Pine Lake and many more.

Of course we’ll have our usual silent auction too, as well as treats from local bakers.  Get ready for gardening and life outdoors after a long winter at this year’s annual Cultural Center “rite of spring.”  The silent auction opens at 6 pm and ends at 8 pm with the live auction opening on selected items at 7 pm.  Here is a list of representative items that will be in either the live or silent auctions on Thursday, April 25.
