GMB Returns to NYM!
Friday, April 14, 2023
Music Starts @ 7:30 PM

Our 2023 Spring Concert Series continues with Good Morning Bedlam, back by popular demand! Join us in the Cultural Center’s intimate listening-room-style gallery space on Friday, April 14, 2023. Once you attend a concert here, you won’t want to go anywhere else for live music!

Good Morning Bedlam has become a staying force in the folk genre over the past several years. GMB shows are known for their wild energy and stunning harmonies. GMB has played at festivals alongside artists such as Shakey Graves, Sam Bush, Jason Isbell, The Infamous Stringdusters, Trampled By Turtles, and others.

Based out of Minneapolis, Good Morning Bedlam is made up of Isaak Elker, Victoria Elker, Dawson Redenius, and Kat Seeger. They are continuing to tour full-time in 2023 as they gear up to release an EP in late 2023.

“’When they lock in together, Good Morning Bedlam sounds like a force of nature.”
–Under The Radar

Every Good Morning Bedlam song is a unique twist on what is generally dubbed as folk music. “We want to surprise our audience from song to song. Rather than creating our music to fit a genre, we allow it to be an outpouring of our own stories and unique sound,” says Isaak, frontman of GMB. Just when you think you have Good Morning Bedlam pegged, they take you in another direction.

Good Morning Bedlam released their sophomore album, Like Kings, in July of 2018. In 2019, GMB ended their first full touring year of 200+ shows before the COVID-19 shutdown by winning first place at the John Hartford Memorial Festival Band Competition and being finalists at the NWSS Band Competition.

“Beautifully crafted roots music with range and depth. Catch them live and you’ll understand why people love them so much.”
–Rick (Fan)

For their 2020 video release “Enough,” GMB asked fans to send in videos of themselves celebrating life as a way to remember that “you are loved” and “you are enough.”  Besides the amazing talent and energy that they bring to every show, this strong connection to their fans is one of the things that makes GMB such a special group of musicians.

In 2021, GMB ran a successful Kickstarter for their much-anticipated third full-length record ‘Lulu’ where fans from around the world pledged a total of $34,000. Lulu was released in February 2022 to critical acclaim. GMB has been featured on Bluegrass Today, Relix Magazine, Glide Magazine, and Paste Magazine.
