Minnesota Lakes Woodturners make art out of the forest

Local artists from Otter Tail, Wadena, and Becker Counties are featured in the Minnesota Lakes Woodturners Association exhibit, One Good Turn, featuring the work of 12 woodturning artists. The show continues in the Center’s ground-floor gallery through Wednesday, October 15. Gallery hours are 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday – Friday and Saturdays 10 am to 3 pm.
The exhibit includes goblets, bowls, trays, and a host of other beautiful and useful wood art made by Don Wattenhofer of Ponsford, Mike Lickiss of Detroit Lakes, Lon Hanson of New York Mills, Mark Olson of Ottertail, Phil Holtan of Perham, Jim Kjelstrup of Detroit Lakes, Dan Modrow of Frazee, Kenneth Vorderbruggen of Henning, Christian Haugen of Henning, Dan Yliniemi of Ponsford, Ron Eberle of Detroit Lakes, and Don Olson of Audubon.
Woodturning demonstrations will be featured on Friday, September 19 from 6pm-8pm. Please join these regional artists as they create beautiful turnings from local wood. There is no charge for admission to the gallery or for the demonstrations.
