ABOUT THE BOOK: “and grief will find its way”

Sonja Kosler, former Dent resident, has published a collection of poetry about loss. The title “and grief will find its way” comes from the last line of the poem Advice, a response to someone asking how to live with the death of a loved one. In this volume, Kosler shares a journey where grief has been a traveling companion, a voyeur, a bully, a jokester, a shadow, and an occasional visitor.

Sonja believes each of us has our own unique relationship with loss, and yet, grief will find its way – in, along, and out of our lives – always leaving space for joy and laughter.

Book review comments include:
“You are reminded of the ravages and griefs of aging on one page, then on the next, a snapshot of prairie roses and children splashing in the rain.”
“The poems are story and song. The vivid sense of place, the seasons, the animals and birds relieve the darkness of history and aging.”

In 2022, Sonja moved from her beloved East Silent Lake to Poulsbo on the Kitsap Peninsula of Washington; another lost and found journey. There she devoted time to complete this book. She invites you to travel along with the people, objects, places, plans, hopes and ideals presented here.

Copies of “and grief will find its way” are available at Big Pine Books in Perham, the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center Gift Store, and Amazon.com. Contact Sonja directly at sonja.storyteller@gmail.com.

For this event on June 20th, Sonja will have books available for purchase and signing. All are welcome!
