Time to write, for teens (ages 12-18)

Join visiting writer Jennifer Groff for the collective magic that happens when you write in a room together, but on your own project.  Writing exercises will be a catalyst for creativity, whether you create a poem, begin a story, or explore a memory.  You can use this time to start something new or work on a piece in progress.  Please bring paper and a pen (writing by hand is strongly encouraged).

Jennifer Groff is working on a poetry collection during her time as artist-in-residence at the New York Mills Arts Retreat. She is also writing a Young Adult novel.

In high school, Jennifer published poems anonymously in the school literary magazine. More recently her poetry has been featured in the Syracuse, NY Poster Project (http://posterproject.org/), appeared online at Brass Bell Haiku (http://brassbellhaiku.blogspot.com/) and Lost Paper (http://lostpaper.blogspot.com/), and performed at the Lancaster, PA Spoken Word Festival.

Writing times will be held at the Cultural Center on Wednesday, December 9th and Wednesday, December 16th from 6-7:30 pm both nights. These events are free and open to teens ages 12-18.
