“Ring of Kerry gave us our best holiday concert ever!”

     — Dr. Daniel O’Bryant, St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra

Ring of Kerry is a bursting-with-energy Irish music group that captures the hearts of listeners. The group takes its name from a beautiful craggy drive in southwestern County Kerry, Ireland. Its Celtic music, however, is played with a heart much closer to its American home.

Based in Minnesota, Ring of Kerry plays Irish music on a variety of Celtic instruments, including whistles, flutes, guitar, hammered dulcimer, fiddle and bodhran. All five of its engaging musicians sing and play several instruments.  The band and their musical specialties include Paul Cotton–percussionist and founder, Paul Imholte–the musical stringman, Charlie Roth–storyteller & songwriter, Emma Nistler, singer & flutist, and Cristina Seaborn–fiddle player extraordinaire.

Ring of Kerry is at times a raucous pub band enticing the crowd to sing along, stomp their feet and to join the merriment. Yet, in other moments, they are able to beautifully serenade their audience while strolling from table to table, completely unplugged and playing acoustically.

Ring of Kerry’s specialty, however, is playing highly energetic and engaging stage shows often including a troupe of fully costumed Irish dancers. For this intimate Cultural Center concert, two Irish dancers will join the show!

“Ring of Kerry wowed our audience with a one-of-a-kind, full-house energy that was as captivating as it was real.”

     — John Forsythe, BoDiddley’s
