2020 Theme: Blue Musings

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ARTISTS! Starting May 27 to July 3, the Cultural Center will be showcasing local artwork. Any artist age 18 and up is welcome to bring up to 2 pieces of art to the Center. Artwork will be put up starting May 27, and added until June 3.
If possible, artwork should reflect the theme of “Blue Musings.” This can be related to how you have felt during the COVID-19 closures, or not. Art has always served as a way for people to process and heal, and we are looking to showcase the unique perspectives and talent of our local and regional artists during these challenging times.
During the current COVID-19 global pandemic, artists have come forward to provide online performances and workshops to help everyone that has been shut in. This is our time to thank artists, showcase their talents and celebrate the creativity of our community. To recognize and support our local talent, the Cultural Center will post on Facebook each artist’s work with information about them and their art, and the retail price if the piece is for sale.
Community members will have the opportunity to vote on their 3 favorite pieces and purchase unique local art. Awards will be given for the top 3 pieces of artwork as determined by community/visitor vote.
An outdoor “Masked Reception” will be held on the back deck of the Cultural Center on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Small groups of 10 or less can tour the gallery in shifts. Distancing observed, sanitizer provided, masks encouraged. Refreshments available.
ARTISTS: Fee is $25 for up to two pieces of art for non-members and $10 for up to two pieces of art for members. Commission reduced to 20% (from typical 30%) to support artists during these challenging times. People’ choice awards of top 3 pieces will be given out the end of June.
