The Cultural Center’s ‘Art in Your Park’ program returns to YOUR parks in New York Mills, Perham and Wadena this summer! Join us in the great outdoors for a variety of fun art projects for kids.

Designed for children in grades K-6.  Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.  There is no cost to participate and all are welcome.

Art in Your Park will take place on the dates noted below from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. (unless otherwise noted).

PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO Art in Your Park on August 13th. The ‘Old Wadena Rendezvous’ is CANCELLED due to storm damage at Old Wadena Park.

This program is free to attend & open to all; donations gratefully accepted to help us continue these community programs. We will continue to monitor and follow COVID guidelines and ask if your child does not feel well that they please stay home.

This year workshops will focus on one particular artist each day with projects influenced by the artist‘s work. The 2022 schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday, June 1: 5-7 p.m. NYM Sculpture Park/The Barn during ‘Spring into Summer’ event
  • Tuesday, June 7: Perham Library
  • Wednesday, June 22:  Lund Park, NYM
  • Friday, June 24:  Wadena Green Island
  • Wednesday, July 6:  Perham Library
  • Friday, July 8:  NYM Cultural Center during Annual Fish House Festival event
  • Wednesday, July 13:  Wadena Green Island
  • Thursday, July 14:  Smith Park, NYM
  • Wednesday, July 27:  Central Park, NYM
  • Tuesday, August 2: 4-6 p.m. NYM Cultural Center during National Night Out event

Children interested in participating are welcome to just stop by and join in the fun!  If you would like to receive Art in Your Park updates, please email Cheryl Bannes at cheryl@kulcher.org and we will add you to our participant list.

Art in Your Park (AIYP) is free for kids, but not without cost. These art activities for kids are available thanks to the generous support of our donors, members, and grant-making organizations.
