Ben Ranson Poster - NYM Cultural Center

Per Emergency Executive Order 20-04 from Governor Walz, the Cultural Center will be closed now through March 27, with all events postponed or canceled. At this point we are taking a responsible, safety-first stance in working to flatten the curve of COVID-19 and help protect our communities. We also recognize the importance of the arts in providing creative solutions, opportunities for connections, and reminders of all the beauty that surrounds us, particularly during times of crisis. To this end, staff is working hard to provide ways to connect electronically and offer some “Daily Doses of Kulcher” for our communities. More Daily Doses of Kulcher on our Facebook Page.

Ben Ranson is a guitarist and singer from Sebeka, MN.  He writes amusing, sarcastic, scatological and irreverent songs, often about local happenings and history.  You can hear blues, rock and roll, and American folk music in his work. Ben is a master of both the six and seven string guitars. He has toured from Boston, MA, to Austin, TX, and is a regular on the Fargo music scene and at the best bars from Bismarck to Duluth.

His quick fingers and sharp wit will sure to have you laughing and tapping along. Ben grew up in Sebeka, MN and is proud to have an album out titled “Eighteen Wheels of Pain” that can be purchased at this website: www.benranson.com

He’s even performed at our very own Longest Night Music Festival! Give his blues-y style a listen below:

Tickets for this event are just $5 for adult general admission and students are free! In 2020, we aim to continue supporting the local arts, while also being a window to the world and bringing culture to our communities.

Join us as we celebrate 30 years of cultivating the arts in rural Minnesota.
