Nestled in the rural, rolling hills of lakes country Minnesota, just 30 miles from New York Mills, you will find the charming small town of Battle Lake (population 900).  This is the home base for Blue Red Roses.

Songwriting and Life partners Mary and Dan Olson can be found playing multiple venues across this scenic lake-country landscape as well as throughout the Midwest and West.

Blue Red Roses brings a high-energy, interactive and off-the-cuff show. Their live performances encourage the audience to sing along, dance and even join them on stage. They specialize in hook-laden, harmony-driven melodies that intertwine with a stripped-down rhythmic sound.

Mary and Dan both come from live rock and roll backgrounds along with years of musical theater and classical training. During a Blue Red Roses set, one can expect a great mix of groovy original compositions along with a few beloved hits (and a few deep cuts) from the 60s and 70s.

Blue Red Roses has continuous airplay of their original music on Radio Free Fargo and Ken’s FM and have landed two features on Prairie Public Television. They’ve performed at wineries, breweries, restaurants, and festivals spanning across Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, and Washington — with their original band opening for The Brevet at First Avenue 7th Street Entry.
