Youth Ballet Classes Return!
12-week Fall Session: Wednesdays
September 21 – December 14, 2022
We are excited to once again offer Youth Ballet through a partnership with instructor Leona Cichy at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center on Wednesday afternoons this fall for youth Pre-K through 4th grade.
Students will learn basic ballet technique in a fun and encouraging class environment!
Classes will be held on Wednesday afternoons in the upstairs loft studio at the Cultural Center (accessible only by stairs), September 21 – December 14, 2022. Class times by age group are as follows:
- Pre-K: 4:00 – 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays – $80 fee for 12 weekly 30-minute classes
- 1st – 4th grades: 4:30 – 5:15 p.m. Wednesdays – $110 fee for 12 weekly 45-minute classes
The goal of these youth ballet classes are to instill a love of movement and dance for children. Young dancers will learn basic ballet movements in a positive and fun environment. Proper technique is taught through creative dances and imagination.
The structured classes will focus on the basics of gross motor movement including strength, coordination, and flexibility, as well as socialization and group learning. Every class will be a dance adventure of music and movement!
At the conclusion of the 12-week session, students will perform a short recital for parents and families, held in the Cultural Center main floor visual art gallery.
