Cultivating the arts, culture, creativity & community in rural MN during the COVID crisis & beyond!

Like all of you, we are doing our best to adapt to the changes due to COVID-19. During times of crisis, art and creativity play an important role in helping people think differently, create connections, and build community in new ways.

During this difficult time, if you are able to make a financial contribution to support our work, or to other nonprofit organizations and schools in Minnesota, please consider doing so during #GiveAtHomeMN week, May 1-8, 2020. Click the button below to access our online fundraiser:

Additionally, thanks to support from the Bush Foundation and U.S. Bank, GiveMN is offering $68,000 in “bonus grant” Golden Tickets drawn hourly and daily throughout the #GiveAtHomeMN campaign! Golden Tickets are random chance drawings from all donations made to Minnesota organizations. For every donation made to us during #GiveAtHomeMN week May 1-8, 2020, we are entered for a chance to win hourly or daily Golden Tickets!

We also invite you to consider a sustaining membership. This form of support is particularly helpful, and easier on your budget too. Regular, dependable, sustaining support is especially invaluable now when regular programming and income-earning events are not possible. Committing to a monthly, quarterly, or annual donation provides stable support that allows us to continue our work now and into the future. Click the button below to set up a sustaining membership online, or contact us at 218-385-3339 or to learn more about sustaining memberships through a bank ACH and all of our giving options.

Humans are meant to be together, and it is just plain hard to live through this time of isolation and physical distancing. As we think of those who are unable to work, living alone, feeling isolated, and struggling financially, mentally, and emotionally due to this crisis, we know that as we move forward, the arts can help us heal.

Thank you for considering a gift to the Cultural Center during #GiveAtHomeMN. We were unable to hold our spring fundraiser this year due to COVID-19, so we are hoping that this online giving will help fill that gap in our budget. We appreciate your efforts to help us not only survive but thrive during this time of COVID-19 and beyond.

Finally, we encourage you to find the silver linings during these difficult times. Many of us used to wish for more time, a slower pace of life, fewer obligations. Here’s some inspiration to help you take this crisis and flip it on its head!

  • Embrace the time with your family.
  • Take a walk in the woods.
  • Tackle your project list.
  • Paint a picture outside in the sun.
  • Send that card you’ve been meaning to send.
  • Have a family slumber party in your living room.
  • Learn a new skill.
  • Camp out in your yard.
  • Take an online yoga class.
  • Snuggle up and read books or have a movie night at home.
  • Color a page in that adult coloring book you bought last year.
  • Listen to new music on Spotify and/or play some old records.
  • Pull out your old cookbooks and try a new recipe or make an old favorite.
  • Check out our Daily Doses of Kulcher online here!

Whatever YOUR silver linings look like, we hope you can make the best of this time we have, and before you know it, we’ll be back together again.
